Meet the Authors
Dr. Dave Smith is a physical therapist in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. He is a member of the MovementX family and teaches a course in medical imaging for the physical therapist. Dr. Smith is certified in dry needling and specializes in management of orthopedic conditions with a focus on manual therapy. He is passionate about treating under-served patient populations, providing education about how pain and how the body recovers, and working with patients to achieve their movement goals!
Dr. Keaton Ray is a physical therapist in Portland, Oregon and co-founder/COO of MovementX. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics, a spinal specialist, and a certified strength and conditioning coach. She loves treating patients of all ages with a variety of goals; from learning to walk again, recovering from surgery, or training for a marathon. Most notably, she loves using strength training and manual therapy to aid in performance enhancement!
Dr. Fred Gilbert is an orthopedic physical therapist in Arlington, Virginia. He believes in a healthcare world beyond clinic walls and beyond the restraints of insurance. He provides customized care tailored to your interests. As a residency-trained orthopedic physical therapist Dr. Fred has years of experience empowering clients to adopt the movement mindset. Movement is the gateway to how we experience life – and when we move well the sky’s the limit.
Dr. Josh D’Angelo is a geriatric and orthopedic physical therapist in Arlington, Virginia. He is passionate about the role physical therapy can play in solving some of healthcare’s biggest challenges. Josh uses his hands, hearts, and words to guide patients through the healing process. Josh’s love of utilizing movement to improve health and quality of life fuels his efforts every day. Fun fact, Josh is also CEO of MovementX!
Meredith Black is a registered nurse, a personal trainer, and most importantly, a wellness advocate in Arlington, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 with a BS in Psychology, and went on to graduate from VCU in 2011 with a BS in Nursing. With her passion for health and wellness flourishing, she went on to get certified through American Council on Exercise (ACE) to practice Personal Training, Sports Nutrition, and Functional Training.
