Provider Frequently Asked Questions

How do you onboard and train your providers?2021-01-02T22:25:49+00:00

It is a core belief of ours: an empowered provider is an empowered patient! Once you are accepted as a new MovementX provider, we guide you through a series of onboarding meetings designed to get you up and running as quickly as possible. Onboarding is led by a diverse set of providers and supplemented with resources and discussions to optimize your learning experience. Thereafter, training continues as providers are integrated into weekly one-on-one meetings for continued training and then merge into the larger community infrastructure. Throughout the process, you will learn the ins and outs of succeeding in the out-of-network physical therapy model as well as take a deep dive into personal development and goal setting.

How much experience do I need?2021-01-02T22:27:49+00:00

We do not have a specific experience requirement to apply to MovementX and have clinicians of all experience levels. If you are a provider hungry to go above and beyond for your patients who can develop deep community connections and wants to grow beyond a clinic, we encourage you to apply. We also believe that to provide the highest quality care to our patients, you should have a very high level of confidence in your clinical skillset.

Is MovementX a cash based physical therapy company?2021-01-02T22:31:47+00:00
We founded MovementX with a belief in transparency, autonomy, and trust, and have found that out of network PT enables us to practice at the top of our licenses. That being said, engaging with insurance companies helps to eliminate barriers to patient access and helps us reach larger networks. MovementX has a dedicated insurance team that supports patients with verifying out of network benefits, aiding in superbill submissions, and appealing denials. This ensures that providers can focus on what matters most: taking great care of your patients and yourself!
What do you do to support clinical growth?2021-01-04T01:33:57+00:00

We do our best to supplement clinical growth with clinical rounds, asynchronous patient case discussions, and ongoing sharing of evidence based practice as a company. We challenge our providers to be lifelong learners (in the spirit of one of our core values, kaizen!).

What type of patients are seen?2020-07-16T20:07:45+00:00

MovementX providers see a wide variety of clientele. If you know someone who is looking to move their best so they can live their best, then they are a fit for MovementX. We have physical therapists who specialize in orthopedics, sports, neurological conditions, women’s and pelvic health, vestibular conditions, fitness and strength and conditioning, and more. We also have high level personal trainers who help progress our clients through the MovementX continuum to ongoing wellness.  Visit our services page to learn more about the MovementX continuum.

How long does it take to start?2021-01-02T22:33:52+00:00

Once accepted as a MovementX provider you are able to start immediately. The platform and community are designed to quickly onboard and integrate providers to allow you to provide care to help people move their best. The more people moving and living their best, the closer we come to our vision of ‘a world healed by movement.’

What does the application process look like?2021-01-02T22:36:18+00:00

MovementX is always looking for highly motivated, empowered physical therapists and personal trainers who are looking to make an impact on the profession and help heal the world through movement. At this time we are looking for providers who have the “all-in” mindset. These are PTs and personal trainers who want to make MovementX their next career move and way of life, not just a side gig.

If you feel like we are the right fit for you, please submit a provider application here and we will be in contact with you shortly to learn more about you. If we believe that we are the right company to help you achieve your goals, we will move forward with a series of interviews with our executive team members and providers.

Typically the entire process takes about 3-4 weeks.

Where are providers located?2021-01-02T22:37:22+00:00

Our primary physical therapy markets are located in Washington, D.C. and Portland, Oregon. MovementX has many additional locations across the US and has the capacity to grow wherever care is needed. We make provider acceptance decisions based on the strength of the providers in a certain location, the demand for physical therapy and personal training services, and the company’s ability to support the successful growth of the new provider. More information will be collected on your application and we will do a market analysis during the interview process for potential new locations. Click here to visit our locations page.

How do you structure provider payment?2021-01-02T22:38:59+00:00

Because all of our providers offer services in different parts of the country and have various specialties, we allow all providers to set their own hourly rate. We will work extensively with you to make sure that rate is competitive in your market and sustainable for your financial goals. MovementX believes in providers selecting a price that reflects their value and the needs of the communities they serve.  MovementX utilizes a simple fee split for all providers which we are confident is the best in the market. There are no additional fees or financial overhead you need to commit to get up and running.

Who is a part of the MovementX community?2021-01-04T01:35:54+00:00

Above all else, the most unique value add of MovementX is our community of empowered providers. Our community consists of extremely passionate PTs who are connecting over and innovating within business strategy, clinical care, legislative efforts, marketing, con-ed, and so much more. Even though we are located all across the nation, we can lean on one another to help each other and the company grow. MovementX has implemented many strategies to help you connect and engage with other PTs in the company, despite our remote work set-up. We truly believe that we are stronger together!

Are providers employees or independent contractors?2021-01-04T01:36:35+00:00

MovementX providers are independent contractors. Being an independent contractor is viewed as being self employed by the government.

The benefits of being an Independent Contractor

➔ Enjoy the autonomy
We will never tell you where to be or what to do. When we decide to collaborate with you, we do so because we know you are at the top of your game and that you encompass the growth mindset! We trust you with the freedom to treat patients when and where you want. We want you to take time off to enjoy your hobbies and family. We want you to do your notes from the beach or local park. We are here to make sure you spend time doing what makes you most happy!

➔ Set your own hours
You can set your schedule however you deem best for your lifestyle. If you want to stay home with the kiddos and see 1 patient a week, we support you! If you want to put your hustle hat on and work 40 hours a week, we’ll be here cheering you on!

➔ Earn more money
Being a contractor means you get paid for every hour of work you do. It also means MovementX can afford to pay you much higher than the standard market rate.

➔ Deduct work expenses
You can save money on taxes by deducting any and all work related expenses. This includes your equipment, gas mileage, cell phone, laptop, home office, and so much more! If you do a good job of tracking deductions, you’ll pay less in taxes than you would if you were an employee at a clinic.

➔ Get paid immediately
You don’t have to wait for a monthly payroll deposit. As soon as you see a patient, you will receive payment within 1-2 days!

➔ Feel supported as you grow
Not sure if there’s a market for your skills or a demand for your services? (Hint…there is!) But we understand getting started can be scary. You can dip a toe into this new model of care with very little risk and we will be here by your side to foster your success.

Does MovementX provide benefits?2021-01-02T22:40:07+00:00

Not at this time. Unfortunately, health insurance companies currently do not offer plans to cover Independent Contractors. As the regulatory landscape evolves, we are keeping a close eye on the changes. It is our sincere hope that we will be able to partner with organizations to align affordable benefits for our contractors in the future. At this time, we believe the benefits of becoming an independent contractor still outweigh the challenges. Our team will do everything we can to help you secure benefits via other routes until we can offer them internally.

What is the typical caseload?2021-01-02T22:45:50+00:00

Typical caseload depends on the goals of the individual MovementX provider. We never dictate how many clients a provider sees. Providers that choose to utilize MovementX as their full-time equivalent income see between 20-25 sessions per week; providers that see a part-time equivalent caseload with MovementX see between 10-15 sessions per week.

Are there productivity requirements?2021-01-02T22:45:30+00:00

No way! MovementX will never set productivity requirements for its providers. We believe that empowered providers empower their patients. Individual goals and metrics are set based on the individual providers’ goals and how those goals help to drive MovementX forward.

How do I get patients?2021-01-02T22:45:00+00:00

Our goal is make sure that you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Marketing and patient acquisition is a highly important component of being successful in this model. We expect our providers to lean heavily into marketing and help us help you build your caseload. One thing is for sure, we are not your traditional PRN company where we will passively send you referrals with no investment on your part!

While we expect providers to be the primary driver in caseload development, MovementX also heavily invests in patient acquisition for all our providers including marketing mentorship, development of marketing materials, email marketing campaigns, workshops and lectures, search engine optimization for locations and providers, intercompany referrals, telehealth referrals, network building, involvement in AgeProofYourBody, and more.

We also deeply believe in the strength and inspiration behind our brand, one that connects and resonates with patients, providers, referral sources, gyms, community partners, and large corporations, helping the development of a strong referral network.

Lastly, we also have a strong process that providers work through each and every week to ensure they are optimizing their caseload utilizing the most effective strategies based on their goals.

We believe we have built the system to not only help our patients move and live their best, but also help our providers move and live their best.
