MovementX is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to oversee our out-of-network revenue cycle management (RCM) processes. In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimizing our billing procedures to maximize reimbursement and ensure efficient cash flow.

Core Responsibilities:

Revenue Cycle Management

• Lead the out-of-network RCM cycle, maximizing reimbursement and collections through accurate coding, timely claim submission, and effective denial management.
• Utilize Ability All-Payer for out-of-network claim submission (manual entry as we do not currently have an EMR integration).
• Conduct regular billing audits to identify and correct errors impacting claims.
• Manage outstanding AR (accounts receivable) for patients, including follow-up with payers, corrections, and re-billing for reimbursement.
• Process out-of-network patient reimbursements.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure accurate billing including billing for new services and staying informed of regulatory, compliance, and best practices
• Provide monthly updates of revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, and presentations. Works with CFO and COO closely as needed to accomplish.

Eligibility & Authorization

• Secure prior authorization prior to initiating treatment
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to initiating treatment

Customer Support – Must demonstrate excellence in timely and clear communication.

• Coordinates directly with providers to resolve billing questions.
• Provides training as required to staff regarding best practices for billing
• Serve as the primary point of contact with patients to resolve billing questions

Systems Improvement

• Develop continuous processes and priorities for quality improvement to improve revenue cycle outcomes.
• Aid in enrollment in EFT / ERA as well as provider credentialing when required.
• Identifies, researches and resolves system issues through direct contact with payors and software vendors.
• Performs special projects and other duties as requested.
• Analyze billing reports to identify trends, underpayments, and potential RCM improvements.

Ideal Candidate Characteristics:

• A minimum of five years of medical insurance billing experience; strong preference for experience in the physical rehabilitation industry (OT, PT, SLP, Chiro).
• MovementX primarily engages in Out of Network Billing, while experience with OON is not required, please mention if you have experience in your application.
• Experience working with all types of third party payers. (HMO, PPO, Medicare, MVA, Worker’s Compensation etc.)
• Proficiency in use of billing software applications and project management softwares such as Ability, Asana and Slack.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills (we can’t stress this enough, we need you to be a communication champion!)
• Willingness to work and innovate within a young and quickly growing company
