Most plans of care run somewhere between 6 and 12 sessions, though it varies considerably.

What drives the length: the type and severity of your injury, whether surgery was involved, how physically demanding your job is, how long you waited before starting, and how consistently you do the program between sessions.

A straightforward strain may resolve in four to eight sessions. A post-surgical rehabilitation typically follows your surgeon’s protocol and can run twelve to twenty-four. Returning to a physically demanding job often takes longer than returning to a desk, because the standard you have to meet is higher.

One workers’-comp-specific note: your carrier may authorize a set number of visits at a time and require reauthorization to continue. Your therapist handles those requests. If additional care is needed and not authorized, we will tell you where things stand rather than letting you find out at the end.
