One day, I looked in the mirror while wearing my MovementX shirt, and a thought crossed my mind “the name doesn’t even say physical therapy.” And almost immediately, my next thought was “I love that.”
It made me reflect on how MovementX isn’t just about physical therapy. It’s about something bigger: optimizing movement in whatever way that means to you. That moment deepened my appreciation for all that MovementX offers and made me genuinely excited about where we’re headed. I truly believe MovementX is redefining what it means to Move Well and Live Well.
In today’s world, people are busier than ever, life is more spontaneous, and people are investing in their health and wellness in new ways. As this evolves, so does the health and fitness world with it. I believe that’s exactly where MovementX excels. So when you think of out-of-network physical therapy, and MovementX specifically, I hope you go beyond normal expectations. Here are two unique ways we go beyond the traditional physical therapy model.
Our Model vs Traditional PT
First, the evidence and impact of our mobile and out of network model continues to grow. Traditional physical therapy often comes with barriers such as inflexible scheduling, insurance restrictions, and location limitations. The MovementX model breaks those down by offering care that’s more efficient, convenient, and effective.
As a pelvic floor physical therapist, I’m often working with busy moms who are trying to balance usual life tasks along with their postpartum recovery.
As a mom, attending appointments may not be as simple as just driving and showing up. It can involve navigating around feeding or nap schedules, coordinating child care or factoring in the extra time needed to pack up child necessities.
Additionally, when last minute conflicts arise like illness or school appointments it can be very difficult to reschedule within the same day or week.
This is a common issue in a traditional PT clinic where wait times can stretch into weeks.
While MovementX still provides the opportunity to be seen at one of our partner locations, our mobile model has been very accommodating to moms looking for PT that fits seamlessly into their lives. It’s a lot simpler to find 1 or 2 hours in the week where a physical therapist can come to your home instead of having to juggle multiple things just to attend one appointment.
This difference is highlighted in a story Josh shared about two sons, one treated through the MovementX model and the other through a traditional outpatient clinic.
Spoiler alert: The MovementX experience led to better results, in less time, for less money, and with less stress.
This particular household got to see a clear difference in the outcomes without the inconveniences of travel time, busy clinic schedules, divided care and unpredictable insurance bills. This shows how MovementX does not take the cost of time, money or convenience lightly.
At its core, our model is designed to make your life better in multiple ways.
More Than Just Physical Therapy
Second, MovementX provides more than just a network of expert physical therapists.
We have an entire community dedicated to holistic health and wellness. We connect people with exceptional personal trainers, nutrition and wellness coaches, and provide services like movement analysis, recovery sessions, and health coaching.
Yes, that means physical therapists should be more than just exercise prescribers!
Quality physical therapy should involve insight into how your health, nutrition, daily habits and lifestyle may affect your symptoms. And the amazing thing about MovementX is that when you’re ready to dive deeper in these areas you can do so within the model or with the provider you’re familiar with.
Once you’ve met your PT goals, this can look like transitioning into personal training or nutrition coaching with personal trainer, Heather Prichett, or making long term health changes with our PT shoulder expert and health coach, Dan Alcorn.
And because we’re not bound by insurance limitations, you don’t have to wait for something to go wrong to work with us.
Maybe you want to get stronger so you can lift your grandkids. Or maybe you just completed your third marathon this year and need a recovery session using manual techniques, exercises or modalities to get you back to moving your best.
Our model allows you to seek out MovementX providers at any stage in your movement journey to support you in the ways you need it.
When we say “move well, live well” we mean it.
Our expert providers utilize different avenues to promote movement, quality of life and wellness across the lifespan. Whatever your goals are, we’re here for it. We want to help you get back to doing the things you love, and keep you doing the things you love.
Conclusion
I’m truly honored to be part of a model that’s constantly pushing the envelope in how we serve our communities. When I see the name MovementX, I see a world of people moving, living, and thriving. I see providers who are passionate, flexible, and ready to meet people where they are. I see access to quality care that leaves people better than when we found them.
We’re here to help you stay active, healthy, and thriving and we can’t wait to work with you!
