Frequently Asked Questions

Traditional vestibular physical therapy can get complicated—but we’re here to keep things simple. Click below to see answers to common questions that most of our new clients have.

Can I use my insurance to pay for care with MovementX?2025-02-07T23:12:53+00:00

Yes! You can use your out-of-network insurance benefits to get reimbursed for care with MovementX. Our mobile concierge model gives us the freedom to provide 1-on-1, high-quality care without insurance restrictions, ensuring your treatment plan is based entirely on your needs—not productivity quotas.

How MovementX helps you maximize your benefits:

  • We verify your insurance benefits upfront for total cost transparency.
  • We assist with invoice submission to help you maximize insurance reimbursement.
  • No surprise bills—ever.
  • Our rates are often more cost-effective than in-network cash rates applied to your deductible.
  • We accept HSAs, FSAs, Personal Injury Protection (PIP), motor vehicle accident insurance, and worker’s compensation.

Have questions about your coverage? Click here to learn more or contact us at (202) 681-1474 or info@movement-x.com.

Does MovementX accept Medicare?2025-02-07T23:12:42+00:00

MovementX is non-enrolled with Medicare, meaning we do not have a contract or billing relationship with Medicare Part B or Medicare Supplemental plans. This means that we do not bill Medicare, and our clients cannot submit claims for reimbursement under traditional Medicare or secondary plans. However, some Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans may offer out-of-network coverage, so we recommend checking with your provider.

You can still choose MovementX for services in the following cases:

  • Wellness & Optimization Sessions – Focused on improving mobility, strength, and injury prevention (not considered medically necessary by Medicare).
  • Post-Denial Physical Therapy – If Medicare has denied additional visits at an insurance-based PT clinic, we are happy to help you.
  • AgeProofYourBody Exercise Classes – Join our online group exercise classes designed for active aging!

If you have any questions about your out-of-network coverage, give us a call at (202) 681-1474 or email info@movement-x.com.

How much does care with MovementX cost?2025-02-07T23:13:00+00:00

At MovementX, we believe in full transparency—no surprise bills, no hidden fees, and no confusion. Our hourly rates range from $150–$200, varying slightly by region, specialty, and provider. Unlike traditional clinics, our 1-on-1 concierge care ensures you receive personalized, high-quality treatment without insurance restrictions.

Ways to Make Care More Affordable:

  • Use your HSA/FSA for payment.
  • Get reimbursed through out-of-network insurance benefits.
  • Ask your provider about bundle package discount rates.

We are committed to delivering exceptional care, and if you’re not satisfied, we offer a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied within a week after your first session.

Do I need a referral from my doctor to start PT?2025-02-07T23:09:36+00:00

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to start physical therapy with MovementX. In all U.S. states, you can see a physical therapist directly when you have pain or an injury. Research shows that starting physical therapy early leads to better outcomes, so don’t wait—contact us today to schedule your evaluation.

Some states require a referral after a certain period of treatment, and some insurance companies require a referral for reimbursement. If you’re unsure about your specific situation, contact us at (202) 681-1474 or info@movement-x.com, and we’ll verify for you.

Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA)? 2025-02-07T23:12:47+00:00

Yes! You can use either your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for physical therapy with MovementX. Simply add your HSA/FSA card as your payment method when booking your session. You can also submit your receipts for reimbursement. FSA funds typically expire at the end of the year, so don’t let them go to waste! Have questions? Contact us at (202) 681-1474 or info@movement-x.com.

Should I choose in-home or clinic-based care?2025-02-07T23:12:08+00:00

Choosing between in-home and clinic-based care depends on your needs and preferences. MovementX brings concierge physical therapy directly to you, whether that’s at your home, gym, office, a local track, or even virtually via telehealth. However, if you prefer a dedicated treatment space, we’ve also partnered with several local gyms and other locations to provide a comfortable private setting for your care.
