A denial is not necessarily the end, and denials are frequently overturned.

Claims get denied for a range of reasons: a missed reporting deadline, a dispute over whether the injury is work-related, insufficient documentation, or a paperwork error. Every state has an appeals process, and many denials are reversed on appeal.

Your options while that plays out: appeal through your state’s workers’ compensation agency, consult a workers’ compensation attorney, or continue treatment through your health insurance or as a self-pay patient so that your recovery does not stall while the paperwork is resolved.
